John Martin House
Investigation
location History
At this time, the history of the location is still being researched. All that is really known at this point is that the home was built in 1857 by John L. Martin. He moved to this location from Kentucky with his wife and children. More genealogical research will hopefully give a name to his wife. So far in our research she has only been referenced as Mrs. John Martin. Their children were named John, William, Benjamin, Daniel, and Carrie. Carrie was listed as Carrie Titzer. We do not yet know if this was a married name, or if she was possibly taken in by the Martin family. John L. Martin was a farmer and secretary for Ideal Dairy. He died at a fairly young age in the service, although we do not yet know what exact date or cause was.
More history will be revealed as we learn more.
E.M.F. Results
The night started with an emf sweep to determine locations of constant high emf fields. The basement which runs under 1/3 of the home contained numerous high readings. They ranged from a .9 to 30s and higher. It was definitely a "fear cage" situation, which explained why the home owner was uncomfortable going to the basement alone. On the main floor readings ranged from 0 to .5 in most places. There were a few areas where the emfs radiated from the basement, but with the furnace and refrigerator off the readings dropped to the normal base.
Then with the lights out a second set of readings were taken. There were several unexplainable spikes and a few fields that were free floating and seemed to move slightly before returning to base. One in particular was found at the top corner of an open door. It was about a foot from the closest wall and two feet from the ceiling. It's reading were from a 0.6 to a 1.2 . All areas surrounding it were a base 0.2 or 0.3 . The readings weren't terribly high, but the ability to move the detector in and out of the field and then later for it to be completely gone was impressive.
The second story was very quiet on the emf guage. We did , however, experience two spikes upstairs that registered over a 1.0 . On both occasions it was in a doorway when exiting a room. Further investigating led to the discovery that there were no electric fields coming from the adjacent walls or door frames.
One last note, in one room there were two identical old lamps. They even had the same bulbs. One of them had a high emf reading and the other had none. We experimented by unplugging the lamp and found that even hours later it would read 2.0 and higher, while the lamp that was plugged in only read a 0.5 .
K-II Experiences
There were two separate k-2 sessions. The first was in the dining room. It was a radical series of spikes on the k-2 meter that lasted for several minutes. It was hard to tell if it was in response to any of the questions we were asking, but it was very interesting none the less.Only one instance stands out in my mind. The room has an adjacent sunroom where the ashes of the homeowners father reside. At one point the home owner said "is that you dad?" and it6 was immediately followed by a very high k-2 spike.
The second k-2 session was very impressive. It was much more like a conversation, a series of Q & A. Questions were asked several times in different orders and worded differently. We seemed to get the same responses almost every time.
If our assumptions about the k-2 were correct then we were speaking to a girl who was 12 yrs old, the same age as the home owners daughter. We were also led to believe that she is not the only entity at the residence.
This k-2 session lasted almost an hour, but when she was done talking, she was done. The meter went flat. Unfortunately, we did not get this investigation on video.
