This audio clip was taken in the basement. The floors in the house creak very loudly. The sound in this clip would have been exponentially louder had someone actually been walking upstairs. There are a few audible creaks and then what sounds like footsteps. This audio phenomenon occurred several times throughout the night. After reviewing many hours of digital audio, I felt this was the most impressive clip.
This clip is from the first evp session in the upstairs master bedroom. In the photos it is the room with the doll in the chair. This digital abnormality occurs only a few minutes into the recording and, oddly enough, stops a few minutes before the session ends. The digital recorder was placed in the chair with the doll the entire time.

The
Investigation
I started the evening about 10:30 p.m. With an e.m.f. (electro magnetic field ) detector, and went for a walk around the cabin. Other than a very high spike around the electric panel, most of the home registered 0.0 to 0.2 . The upstairs master bedroom had a few unexplainable spikes. The doll in the chair registered a 0.2 from her feet to her neck. Her head, however, read 0.5. A second e.m.f sweep showed 0.1 to 0.2. The rest of the room was a steady 0 to 0.2 with one exception... The bed . The emf detector read 0.5 over a portion of the bed. Normal readings were found a few feet above the bed as well as under the bed. Then when I was descending the stairs to the basement the meter jumped from a 0.2 to a 0.9 and quickly dropped back to a 0.2 . Two steps down it jumped to a 0.7, then back to a 0.2 . Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs it spiked to a 1.6 then after a few seconds returned to normal. That was the highest unexplainable spike during the investigation. It almost seemed that I was following a moving energy field.
At one point I thought I heard voices talking, as if there were people having a conversation outside. It was 2 a.m., 20 degrees and in the middle of nowhere. There was no one outside and it may have been my mind playing tricks on me. It wasn't picked up on the digital audio recorder, so I have to throw that experience out.
Throughout the night there were sounds of creaking floors, knocking, and the the sound of a hot water pipe "ping". The only problem was that the home was in the middle of a massive remodeling project and there wasn't any water inside at all.
All in all , it was a very interesting case. I encountered a several odd emf readings. I also had a few personal experiences, voices, four hours of camcorder batteries going dead in 30 minutes during the first evp session, and the sound of a door handle followed by the creak of an opening door. Then there were the countless creaks, bangs, and knocks that were a constant reminder of how quiet everything else was.
Is it haunted? I will have to say that there is just not enough evidence to prove to me that there is a haunting. Could it be haunted? Definitely! This place has a rich history that goes back a long way. Perhaps I'll investigate it again sometime and have more evidence to base my conclusion on.
